Morning Terry and the Cali Crew!
Hey I am glad you did the post! I slept in for a change and slept the night...how unusal is that???
I am telling you Terry your dogs shot sounds sooooooo Italian or something!!! I hope the poor pup gets over the reaction soon!
You know I do not have my kids names tatted, but I surely got my grandkids name tatted when they were born this last year. I cannot believe that my Avabear is turning 1 in 7 weeks!!! I just can't imagine a day in my life without her or Hunter!
Oh and no we did not get rain...thank gawd!!! But you could see up in the high desert that it was raining...it just look threatening at times. Here in the desert, it can be sunny one minute and the clouds just form up...thunderheads...and just pour...kind of like it does in the midwest. I am hoping today does not bring any rain either.
I spent most of my afternoon at the easel painting and in fact nearly finishing the painting I started just recently. I love it when I can have days like that were you just know you are on and the creative stuff just flows. It is a day of the dead painting....one of my favorite styles of artwork. I do not know where it came from, but one evening a couple of weeks ago I was talking with my son on the phone and went in my darkroom and got a canvas while we were talking and just started sketching out the canvas as we talked. It is a pretty good sized canvas...it is a 24x24...like I said it is not finished, but will share:
I have not painted with texture in a while because I have been working in oils, but it felt so good to go back to acrylics and texture...makes me want to drag another canvas out as soon as I get done with this one!
Well you surgery gals this week....OMG I am so excited for all of you....I wish you all so much success!!!! This is such an exciting time in your life and a real turning point. It is a decision that will last a lifetime if you work your tool properly!!!!
Have a great day Terry and the Cali Crew!!!

To clarify the Tattoo, my children and grandchildrens names will be on it. In order of birth.... As good as you can paint heck you can do my tat..
hugs!

I really need to start getting up earlier. We stay up till 2 or 3 am because it's the only time of day I can truly feel relaxed and know I'll have some peace in my life so I hang onto it and don't want to go to sleep. I have so many projects I really needed to get done this summer and life happened and I've not finished any of them. School starts in less than a month, so I really need to change my internal clock and get moving.
My son is in a Sober Living apartment now with 17 days sober (he lets me know every single day his count) He's going to meetings every day.....sometimes two or three. We paid for his apartment, truck repairs, overdraft on his account (due to something very dishonest he did while high), registration, insurance, cell phone, cable/internet. Yesterday we took him to the grocery shopping and filled up his gas tank.
Enable much? I don't know. I want him to make it, but I can't keep doing this. Like I said, my only time of absolute peace is the wee hours of the morning. So there's where things are with him. I want a life too though. Is that terribly selfish? I've been working hard to get my prereqs done for nursing school. At the end of August, when school starts, that becomes a full-time job and I need to be allowed that. Ok enough about all that for today. Sorry to ramble.
Janine, thank you for sharing your art. I can't draw or paint AT ALL, but I do play the guitar. One of those things on my list to do: tune up guitar and play again. I'm so sorry we missed you Friday while we were in Cathedral City. Next time, we'll plan in advance. This was a very spur of the moment trip.
Katt, I wish I'd known about the Comic Con, that sounds like so much fun and great excuse to get away for the weekend. (I could use a weekend away)
For those having surgery this week, congratulations. I'm so excited for you.
I'm so glad you're doing well Linda and hopefully Julia will be home and on the mend very soon.
We had a great time at LB Coffee yesterday.
Today we're going to go get the supplies to clean up our backyard so we can start enjoying BBQs out back and fires in our little firepit. (one of the many projects on my list)
Everyone have a great day!
